Medicaid and Delta Dental of Idaho

Delta Dental of Idaho is dedicated to enhancing oral health and well-being across Idaho by ensuring access to oral healthcare coverage. Obtaining the Medicaid dental contract is essential to achieving this mission.

Delta Dental of Idaho aims to expand dental care accessibility for all individuals and collaborate closely with dentists and the state to help improve the Idaho Smiles Medicaid program. Together, we can improve some of the unique and difficult Medicaid challenges. To that end, we are collaborating with Dr. Scott Kido and our community partners to pursue the Medicaid dental contract.

Frequently Asked Questions - Medicaid RFP Bidding Process

Our goal is to enhance oral health and well-being across Idaho by ensuring access to oral healthcare coverage. To that end, Delta Dental of Idaho is actively pursuing the Idaho Medicaid contract, a bid process with precise timelines. The state will release a Request for Proposal (RFP), and any dental benefits administrator (dental insurance company) can apply. However, only one dental benefits administrator is selected to administer Idaho Smiles, the state Medicaid dental plan. We are diligently working towards being chosen, and this will enable us to continue improving the oral health of all Idahoans with the simple, helpful, and trusted service dentists in Idaho have come to know and appreciate.

We will adhere to the state's set fee schedule. However, we will work to ensure fees are at the top of the state's mind as they consider annual budgets.

Right now, nothing is changing. The state has yet to announce the opportunity to bid on the Request for Proposal (RFP); Delta Dental of Idaho is fully prepared to begin the process as soon as it is released. Your invaluable support in this crucial phase would be greatly appreciated as we strive to secure the contract, ensuring the continuation of the reliable service that both providers and members have come to trust.
